KRYS KOLANOS

Kolanos has been a pleasant surprise since coming over to the Ducks he has accumulated 13 G and 43 Pts in 42 games.  He has played well at both ends of the ice and looks like he will become the first line RW that the Ducks scouting staff thought he could be.

Ducks Spread Wings, Starting to Fly North

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks have had a terrible start to the season.  They were picked by a panel of experts at the beginning of the year to make the playoffs, but it has looked like they  would finish dead last in the league, until now.

The Duck are on a 5 game winning streak, the longest of the season, and are 6-3-1 in their last ten.  Although they are still 9 points out of a playoff spot the players feel they still have a shot of making the playoffs with 33 games to go.  "We have a senses of urgency" said Captain Craig Conroy.  "We need to continue to believe in ourselves, to play hard and scratch and claw for every single point.  We need to play at least .600 the rest of the way to have a chance."

"I am holding myself accountable for the trouble we had this season" said GM Keith Johnson.  "I was so worried about getting the right mix of players that I didn't stop to consider the team chemistry.  We made far  too many trades at the beginning of the year and as a result, got off to a horrible start.  I have assured the team that the only way someone else will be moved is if we get an offer we cant refuse, but even then it may be hard"

One bright spot all year has been the play of Patrick Elias.  He is currently the Ducks leading scorer 23 goals and 58 points in 50 games.  Leads the team with a +16 rating, has the most hits at 131, and the most shots on goal with 125.  He looks like he has hit his stride and will be counted on tremendously the rest of the year.

The Ducks now return home to face one of the biggest surprises of the year, the LA Kings.  This is a game the Ducks need to win as the Kings are one of the teams they are chasing for a playoff spot.  Tickets are still available and can be purchased at The Pond or any Select-a-Seat location.  You can also purchase them by calling 983-SEAT.

Player of the Week

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks have announced Yannick Perreault has been named player of the Week.  He has accumulated 4 goals and 6 assists in his last 5 games.  He has 2 GWG and was a +8 for that period.  Since coming to the Ducks, he has posted 12 goals and 33 points in 31 games.
